Seeking honest advice re: burnout
For context: I’ve been an analyst for 18 months at a BB in a sales support type role. My day to day consists of a lot of manual data entry/processing and things no one wants to do. I started finance because i wanted to work with investments/wealth management. I’ve gained no experience in that in this role. Six months in, I started to look for another job as an FA to get that exposure but have been unsuccessful. Additionally my office is in the middle of nowhere and I want to live in the city. I’ve been at this for a while and I’m depressed and burnt out. I’ve been networking proactively, doing a of of high visibility projects to get in the good graces of senior mgmt, studying for my series licensing, etc. Should I give up trying to break in and find another industry?
i would really appreciate any advice on dealing with the burnout I’m experiencing.
