Structured Lending (CRE) for Wealth Management?
Does anyone know anything about Wealth Management lending? Supposedly, structured lending within WM is giving loans to HNW and UHNW individuals so they can purchase real estate and other assets.
I am looking at a potential opportunity within a structured lending team at a large wealth manager, and it seems the role is to underwrite CRE loans to wealth management clients.
Does anyone have any insight regarding something like this? Pretty niche and never heard about it, but seems cool.
You don’t give much details but it’s probably lending to the firm’s clients on a recourse basis. It’s another touchpoint to generate fees/income and keep the relationship. Generally these are relatively low risk loans, where recourse is put up, an it’s ‘relationship’ lending.
They're prob lending against the clients assets that are invested in stocks / bonds, with both the RE and those assets as collateral.
Are you talking about the Deutsche team in Jax?
YES! I'm a recent grad looking for anything at the moment, but I'm not sure about it. I see you are an analyst in CRE, do you know this team or do something similar?
