Transition from Risk Technical Analyst IP to Private Banking/ PWM

Hi everyone. So I’m currently an Accounting and Finance student at a semi-target and next year I’ll be doing my industrial placement year.

During my prior internship at a support division in a private bank and after speaking with quite a few successful private bankers I decided that this is what I want to do as a career.

However this year after facing quite a few rejections from some pretty major banks, I received an offer at the risk division of a well known bank. I decided to take it as the time to decide was limited and I thought it will be a great experience. Now starting this summer I’ll work there for 12 months and if successful I’ll be offered a grad job.

Are there any hopes for me to transition to my desired field following this? If so, any advice? (For context the bank I’ll be working for has a strong private bank division)
