What do Investment Advisors/Specialists actually do?

Hi all, I saw a lot of job ads recently about Investment Advisors or Investment Specialists roles within the wealth management divisions of banks. They are not the relationship managers, but rather working with them. I was wondering what is the role like, how is WLB and pay?

I used to work at a FoF where we had product managers that were selling our PE investments to future clients, or updating current customers. They were mostly doing presentations of our offerings, it seems like they were working hand in hand with the sales team. Would it be a similar job?

I'm a bit lost, thanks a lot!
