2+2+2 IB, Consulting, Start-up > PE?
Hi WSO,
Student at a UK target uni
If you do 2 years in IBD, then 2 in consulting and then PE/VC
or after consulting, do an additional 2 years at a start-up and then move to PE/VC
Would this be frowned upon or seen as positive?
I thought that doing this route might allow me see exactly what I want to do - having spent a couple years in all the respective fields. Maybe my calling is to push fancy flowcharts as a consultant. If I decide in the end, I want to do PE/VC, surely I am a more attractive candidate having done all 3?
I understand I'd be taking a large pay cut in opportunity cost by not moving straight away but maybe I'm missing something else
Thanks in advance!
