40 (from creator of Entourage)

From dealbreaker:

HBO has announced the Entourage creator Doug Ellin will produce a new ensemble show featuring four 40 year-old friends living in New York. Among them: “a rich metrosexual,” “a ripped personal trainer,” “a schlumpy neurotic married guy” and a former Bear Stearns exec who made $2 million a year and has now been out of work for almost 12 months, played by Ed Burns. Jimmy Cayne has presumably been asked to consult on the project, but if anyone else has some tips for Burns on how to make this character as real a possible, please share them at this time.

Any ex-Bear Stearn guys should shoot Burns an email.

Trust me, there isn't a single thing interesting about 40 year olds. This sounds like a big pile of FAIL.

Agreed.

I feel like if the guy is going to do an Entourage-like show based in New York, he should probably do something similar to Murray's Hill by LSO: http://www.leveragedsellout.com/2006/09/murrays-hill-101-pilot-banker-f… and http://www.leveragedsellout.com/2006/10/murrays-hill-102-clap-your-hand…

Not necessarily people in finance (since the show would try to reach a wider audience), but young professionals plus their token starving artist type guy (the new Drama), maybe a trust fund kid who decided not to do the 'traditional route' but branching out on his own, and they're all trying to make it big in the city.

Sorta related question: Is "How to make it in America" any good ?
Really wanted to like it and will probably watch an episode or two of the new season. A lot of the characters were interesting (the sidekick, Luis Guzman's character, Kid Cudi, and the hedge fund manager) and a lot of cool NYC scenery but the two leads were pretty dull and the story was a little slow.
There have been many great comebacks throughout history. Jesus was dead but then came back as an all-powerful God-Zombie.

It's a shame that he couldn't have gotten the show about Hedge Fundies produced. That would have been hysterical to see how he lampooned his brother Bob (a principal at a Hedge Fund based on the West Coast and the entire basis for the idea in the first place) and the whole Hedge Fund world.

If he gets this produced, it will be solely on the basis of Entourage, as I'd rather watch Men of a Certain Age instead of what sounds like an aweful idea.

there isnt anything interesting about guys in NY, especially the ones in Finance.

Need to get a little PowerPoint in there for some variety. Variety is the spice of life
