5 Year undergrad

I am a second year at umich who wants to go into ib. if i do b school i will be in undergrad for 5 years, but get a double major in neuroscience (what i was previously doing). how do employers look at 1) a 5 year undergrad and 2) a double major in that field (would i be better off leaving it out of my resume in the future?)

thanks very much

I was a 5 yr undergrad. Not really similar to your situation but this was mine:

-took a semester off to get handle on a business I just started running
-did 2 semesters part time in the transition process
-remaining semesters in college I took maximum credits(18) while working full-time so I could finish ASAP.
-Also, changed my major from Pol Sci to Fin mid-way into my sophmore yr, this caused me to have taken some credits which were not applied to my degree.

I havnt had many people ask about it, maybe because I typically explain the business/school situation from the outset.

I would think that a double major wouldn't implicate you as a lazy/half-ass 5yr undergrad. But not exactly sure what they would think of a neuroscience major... I'm sure some ppl that are actually in banking would have a better perspective on this.

mate, if you majored in that then i suspect cranking some shit in ppt and hitting f9 in a model will be pretty basic! I'd use it to get into the healthcare team if that's an angle you'd like to pursue. That was my old sector and we'd have loved to have you.

thanks for the advice. the major reason that i was concerned is that seeing a science oriented major along with my bba may seem like im not completely "into" finance. and if i left out my double major banks would wonder why i spend 5 years in school/
