Best places to live near Citi (NYC)

What is the best place to live as an entry level analyst at Citi? In terms of price/quality/commute, what neighborhood would you recommend and why?

Would love to hear any thoughts. Thanks!

I used to walk to the office on 57th/Madison from 65th street and there is something special about just getting up and walking to work in NYC. The energy in the mornings, the guys in the little coffee/bagel shacks on the streets and the feel of the air is indescribable. I was mostly WFH at this office, but enjoyed every walk there. Its refreshing.

Then I realized UES was way too boring to live in and got a place in East Village with the boys. I hardly went to the office, mainly once a month.

Tribeca / SoHo / West Village

If you haven’t heard, there will be a new homeless shelter somewhere around Soho or Tribeca area. Ever since the homeless shelters moved into the Upper West Side area, safety in the area has noticeably declined. If I were you, I would refrain from settling on a housing contract  in the area. Just my two cents
