A beginner with a trading question

So I woke up today, looked at the premarket for potential day trades and I found a few. The one that really caught my attention was TRNX. It was going up and had a decent week. I kinda did my basic version of support and resistance and ended up buying about 23 shares (I am starting small) at 2.70. 5 min later drops down to 2.50 and I lost $ 5. My question for you more experienced traders, did I screw up? Was I being naive thinking it will keep going up and did you notice any clues?
