"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." - Bruce Lee
I am also curious to hear if people have any experience going A2A and then continuing up the ranks to MD? I know most MD's have MBA's, but I feel like going A2A then to b-school and then back to banking would be pointless other than the connections you make while at b-school.
I know a number of A2A MDs. Obviously number is weighted towards Post-MBAs given attrition at the analyst level.
Also going into banking then biz school only to return to banking will never make sense to me. Potential debt incurred + opportunity cost of lost wage + losing years on the promotion track

I think we need as the important question. MBA Associate or regular Associate?
.
A2A means analyst-to-associate
We cant make a decision for you. Do you like your bank and the people? What are your interests and options?
Do you like your group? Do you like banking? Are you at firm that allows for location / group mobility? What do you want to do in 2,5, 10 years?
We can't answer these questions for you (or help you without additional detail).
