Accept Offer Or Keep Looking?
Hey Everyone,
I'm a sophomore at a non-target who just received a summer internship offer at an asset management firm in SoCal (~25B AUM). However, the pay is fairly low considering I would be relocating to the area.
Prior to receiving this offer, I was interviewing for a PE firm, IC firm, and RE Consulting firm. (All of whom were either close to my home or paid substantially better)
My question - Given the Coronavirus uncertainty, would it be best for me to accept the first offer or continue recruiting? Thanks!
Accept. PE as a sophomore will pay you nothing, if that. Assuming this is for this summer (2020), I don’t think the investment consultants will be in a good spot considering the drop in equities (they have been heavily allocating towards them).
*recommending not allocating
Uncertainty high af, not much reward even if you take the risk. Would just accept it if I were you
In general, you shouldn't be concerned about the pay package as a sophomore unless it's not even enough to cover rent--I assume such a fund would pay enough to get by. And almost everyone "relocates" during the summer.
I would accept. pretty late in the game for internships, especially competitive ones. you don’t want to risk other internships canceling or freezing hiring due to corona
take it asap, lots of offers being pulled
Take it. You're also only a sophomore - you have plenty of time
