What are the best activism defense groups (incl. BBs)? Don't know much about this space
Lazard, Gs, Evercore

Does Lazard do much activist stuff? I always thought GS and MS historically owned basically all activist work and Evercore has built up a strong team in recent years. I don’t think any of the other BBs have an activism presence.
PJT Partners has a strong presence in the space after their acquisition of Camberview Partners
no -- it is not technical at all. The analysis is much more qualitative.
It’s not a great route to activist investing because you only learn process not fundamentals. Maybe helpful as a third year after two years in coverage or m&a but even then you’re probably better off going straight to the fund or a top pe shop.
Lazard, Evercore, PJT Camberview are strong
