any grinnell alums on WSO?
The grinnell alumni directory does not have the recent info for any meaningful networking, and its harder to break into wall street even more since we basically have no OCR at all. If there are any grinnell alums who currently/have formerly worked on wall street (IB/PE/HF), please send me a pm. your help will be much appreciated.
NO.
When I first saw this post I thought of the delicious sausage place that is where I went to undergrad

Just googled the college and I doubt you will find anyone from that school on here, but good luck.

Lazy people don't belong on Wall Street. I did a quick search and found people at BAML, Citi and JP from your school. Move your ass kid.
I keep finding more, add GS and Wells.
I mean no sht - there will be SOMEONE from his school at those banks .... he wants to kno ppl on here
Even the crappiest school like Salem or Rutgers will have some IBD alums at BB's. Some fag who went to Howard works at BAML. Just go to your alum listing and start emailing.
You all do realize that Grinnell is one of the country's top liberal arts schools? Its one big drawback is that its located in Iowa. So, probably not too many IB alumni in nyc, but I bet there are decent enough numbers of them in the chicago area. Of course, with an enrollment of less than 2000 students, there aren't going to be large numbers of Grinnell alumni anywhere.
while I know some people at a few banks etc, they are at so high a level and so old that I feel I'll probably never be able to get hold of them anyway or so young (i.e. my friends) that I feel they cant really help me much having started a year or two ago themselves... so please if you do find/know someone (whether on wso or otherwise), let me know
besides, grinnellians are big on consulting, not so hot on finance though
Not to come off as a jerk, but why did you choose such a small liberal arts college if you wanted to be in business (especially IB?). I literally had to do a US News Search for the college (pretty nice ranking) to find it.
I would probably try and contact those really high up people. They could probably help you and since there are so few "grinnellians" on Wall St you would probably really stand out. Other than that, try and focus on the Chicago area since it is a Midwestern school. Good luck!
Anthony-
I agree that if you want to get into IB going to a small liberal arts school in Iowa isn't the best strategy. That being said, I don't think a lot of kids know they want to be investment bankers when they are juniors in high school.
exactly my story...didnt even know halfway until sophomore year that i wanted to do finance then...used to be a math/physics major then lol
thanks for all your help guys
