Anyone has experience with RBC Capital Markets for the Global Markets Summer Internship interview???
Hello,
I have an upcoming interview with RBC Capital Markets for the Global Markets summer internship opportunity. Looks like the department consists for the following sub-groups: 1) Commodities & Futures 2) Debt Origination
3) Fixed Income & Currencies 4) Global Equity 5) Global Research and 6) Global Treasury Services.
Does anyone have an interview experience with them? What kinds of technical questions should I prepare???
Thank you very much!!
RBC Global Markets (S&T) SA Interview Questions (Originally Posted: 02/01/2011)
I have an interview with RBC on Thursday for an SA gig. Target school, not an econ major. What should I expect? Has anyone interviewed with RBC in the past? Please let me know, thank you!
Haf a first round FT back in September.
One guy was a VP of FX Derivatives Trading, the other was VP Sales for rates. Asked a lot of fit stuff. Asked about implications of QE2 and inflation numbers/unemployment etc. Bunch of macro stuff. Then they asked basics about black scholes.
Didn't get to superday. (They only have two rounds)
Back when I applied, it was about 100 first round interviews, 30 Superdays, for 10 offers they said. Not sure about SA. Good luck!
Great, thanks. This is for S&T, has anyone had similar interviews?

RBC - Interview with the global markets program (Originally Posted: 01/23/2010)
Hey,
I did a search on this, but seems like no one really replied. I have an interview with the RBC Global Markets program, and was wondering if anyyyyone can help me out with how I should prepare and what to expect (I have been preparing for ibd interviews thus far.) The program seems like a rotational program through he various groups (ECM,DCM, Research, S&T) so I can't figure out what sort of technicals can be asked and what to prepare for. Can anyone help me out? Also if anyone did it could you shed some light into the program. Greatly appreciated
Hey Nimz88, I am wondering the same exact thing dude
Global Markets doesn't include ECM; that's part of IBD. It does, however, include equity sales & trading.
First round interview should be pretty standard -- know your resume, be able to speak intelligently about what's going on the markets, maybe pitch a stock, know the different types of financial instruments, whatever. Really depends on who your interviewer is. If you get a research guy you'll probably get different questions than if you get a research guy.
Superday will be 4-6 interviews, usually spread around groups...so you'll have to know valuation and stock pitches for research guys, debt/interest rates for debt people, etc...really nothing earth-shattering here either.
PM me if you want more info on the program itself.
