Ark Capital Advisors (WeWork) Thoughts?

Thoughts/Opinions/News on the firm?

Pros I can think of:
- High-quality MD (Rich Gomel)
- Partnerships with Ivanhoe Cambridge and Rhone Group
- approx. $3 B in equity commitments
- Just sold the Lord and Taylor Building to Amazon for $1.15 B

Cons:
- WeWork...

From the job posting:
"ARK Capital Advisors, (“ARK”) is an affiliate of The We Company and serves as its new global real estate acquisition and management platform based in New York City. ARK’s focus is acquiring, developing, and managing select real estate assets in global gateway cities and high-growth secondary markets. ARK collaborates with The We Company to apply The We Company’s existing, new, and developing products and methods of community and space management to ARK owned real estate and leverage The We Company’s relationships with partners and enterprise member companies to create vibrant fully programmed ecosystems."

Thank you

WeWork is dead in the water. They have already reached out within the last few days to renegotiate leases with several landlords. They must either have or be forecasting liquidity issues. One landlord told them to pound sand.

Robert Clayton Dean: What is happening? Brill: I blew up the building. Robert Clayton Dean: Why? Brill: Because you made a phone call.
