Back Office Internship after Freshman Year

I'm currently a freshman at college, and I've been searching pretty unsuccessfully for internships in finance-related stuff. I just found an internship in operations for a decently reputable firm, but am uncertain whether it'll do me much good (not to mention that I have doubts about how much I'd like it). Is it worth sticking with this for future internship possibilities, or should I just go for summer research instead?

tiger cubs are a term used to describe a number of hedge fund managers that worked at tiger capital management, many of which came out of UNC or have close ties to the school. so your name is poorly chosen if you go to p. additionally, and this is somewhat unrelated, i think you should know anyway, p back office. i suppose you should give that your full effort and hope for a lucky break.
