Background Check - About to accept a summer internship offer
I am about to accept a summer internship offer at a MM bank doing trading and was worried a bit about the background check. I was arrested for basically throwing a party last semester but all charges were dismissed prior to my arraignment. Also, the arrest is currently on the internet for the local paper's police blotter.
Would this be a major issue? If HR saw this during the background check would they at least call me for an explanation?

My understanding is as long as you've never been to jail and/or had charges pressed against you, you should be fine.
Ya, unless you were convicted then you should be fine. Can this arrest be easily found if someone googled your name?
it shows up near the top of the 2nd page of google search results, so its not that hard to find
Happened to multiple people around this campus last coupla years. Haven't heard a case where anyone had a problem with background check. Most were alcohol offenses and whatnot and most were dropped.
