Has anyone gone through the interview process at Balyasny for the analyst/associate role? If so, what was it like? Was there a case study and was it 4-hr like citadel's?

Depends on the team really. Some could be single round, some multiple, but expect a modeling test at all MM.
What would you say is more important in the modelling test round? Being able to complete a cohesive 3-statement model or having a income statement build-up w/CF projections and multiple analysis along with in depth understanding of the business?
The latter. I haven't done serious CF projection, all about earnings at most MM. You could get a modeling test or a week to do a case with 3 statement model like my friend did recently slat Pt72. Really comes down to the PM. I'd reach out to sell side that covers the team to try to get an idea.
