Formerly Cornerstone Real Estate, now called Barings after being acquired by MassMutual. Anybody know anything about this group? Specifically interested in their equity platform.
Pretty core shop. Only know about their industrial platform, but they've been buying a lot of super core stuff at big basis and stabilizing to low yields, and vacant buildings without really getting paid for the risk
Do they mainly play in industrials? I literally can't find any transaction news and their website is barebones
they've done ground up multifamily recently
They also have recently dipped into the B piece buying market. I think the bought the first horizontal risk retention piece from JP this year
bump. Any new insights? They have a lending (Barings Multifamily Capital) and an equity platform? Are they a tier below Pru, Met life when it comes to life cos. Same tier as Northwestern Mutual, Pacific Life,New York Life Principal, and TIAA-CREF? Thank you!
