"Basic Excel Test" at HFF/Eastdil
Guys,
Could use some help. I recently interviewed for an analyst position at a debt placement team in NYC at an HFF/Eastdil type shop. I had two rounds of interviews where most of the questions were personality/fit based (very few technical q's), but I have now been asked to come in for a "basic excel test".
What would you expect this to be? Amort tables/building out a proforma? Or something less modeling related such as seeing if I know how to do things like countIF/sumIF statements?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
depends on the shop. I had an obscure 3rd party excel test i took about a year ago for a similar brokerage and it was nothing related to modeling and asked random excel questions like "under data tab, what does x mean" and then it gave definitions of the term. so from several excel tests i have taken pre/post interviews, I would say it depends.
PM me I got you
Care to share. I have a basic one coming up, and am afraid it will simple stuff I don't do anymore. Although I create complex models...

If you could share with me also, I have a test coming soon and I would appreciate it. It won't let me PM you
Toss it in the WSO model drive below if you don't mind sharing.

Would you mind sharing with me as well? Wouldn't allow me to PM you.
Thanks in advance!
If anyone has received any of the practice tests, would they mind sharing please?
did you receive?? May I please have
bump on this - anyone have the test and mind sharing?
