This reminds me of a friend I met who wrote for a couple of TV shows. Good Times, Facts of Life, Magnum PI. Not sure which episodes but, anyway, he said people would ask him how they could get into the Writers Guild and the response was, "To write an episode, that you pitch and that airs on TV." Then the question how can I get the episode I write to be read and used on TV and his response was, "Get into the Writers Guild!
