Best way to learn about different markets

Hi all

Wanted to get others perspectives on how you all go about learning everything about a market you cover. I’m currently tasked on a few different markets throughout the US in asset management responsibilities and am curious how people have learned about the market they work on despite being 500 miles away. Perhaps email blasts, local market reports from CBRE or other resources? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thx
