Big 4 Management Consulting Salary Progression
Was wondering if anyone had any info on consulting salary progression specifically for Big 4. Recently heard a friend received an offer for 75K and a 8.5k bonus for a big 4 firm out of undergrad for tech consulting. I've seen a lot of forum on here for all consulting (MBB to regional boutiques), but was wondering if anyone had info/experience on progression of big 4 salaries. I've seen articles and forums discussing anything from 4%-15% so I was curious. Also what do end of the year bonuses look like for the first 2-4 years?
simmons2323, have you checked out these or run a search:
No promises, but thought I'd mention a few relevant users that work in the industry: prasadgrk consultant120 Recovering Bean Counter

Depends on the firm.
Accenture (Client & Market Track for Tech) - Analyst ~75 (Year 1) - last i checked but this could be up to 80k now to match Deloitte - Senior Analyst ~80-85 (Year 2) - Note, Senior Analyst denotes a year 2 analyst, it's not truly considered a separate position - Consultant ~90-100 - Note this is more so on the Tech Consulting/Management Consulting track. Strategy salaries are ~110k fixed at the Consultant level for non-MBAs - Manager ~110-130k - for Tech/Mgmt Consulting. Strategy Salaries are ~165k at this level - Senior Manager ~140-200k range - for Tech/Mgmt Consulting. Strategy Salaries are ~180-220k (but this is not confirmed) - Managing Director (Year 1) 250K+300-400k in Stock Options that vest over 4 years
Deloitte Analyst - 75k (EDIT: this is up to 80K + 10 This Year) Consultant - 90-100k Senior Consultant - 100-135k (non-MBAs), 147K-155k (MBAs) Manager - 140-180k (non-MBAs), 165-200k (MBAs or Direct to Manager hires from other firms) Senior Manager - 160k-250k (non-MBAs and MBAs)
now there are 2 tracks: Managing Director: 350K Base paid out every 2 weeks Partner: ~600K base, with 300K paid out twice a year
MD salaries climb up to around 400K-500K but bonuses are capped. Some MD's make a transition to the Partner track but this is quite rare.
Partner salaries quickly rise to the 800K-1M range for the Consulting practice.
Thanks thats really helpful. Do you know if all big 4 + Accenture give bonuses out to first year consultants and what those figures might look like?
at Deloitte, analysts get signing bonuses of ~10k - 15k depending on which part of the year they join, but no firm year end bonuses for the first two years. Once they get promoted to Consultant, then they're eligible for bonuses. Usually bonuses can be up to 12% of your base pay at the Consultant level. This goes up to 18% at the Senior Consultant levels, and I'm not sure what it is at the Manager/SM levels
