Big4 Modelling Senior Analyst > IB: What Level?
Commenced career in Big4 modelling as a graduate.
Now ~ 3 years exp and recently made Senior. Circa. 40 engagements, incl. 4 transactional and >10 as principle model builder.
Strong on all metrics; performance (revenue and client feedback), technical, academic (incl. recent CA completion) and team.
Considering a move to IB, ideally BB or top tier boutique in a generalist m&a team (flexible however depending on opps on offer).
I have received mixed feedback on an appropriate level of seniority to be targeting, ranging from graduate - associate.
Would very much welcome opinions - what is realistic/what is aspirational?
Currently aust based but mobile and very open to a move to london, so aust/london based perspectives would be particularly helpful!
Many thanks in advance
Fellow Big 4 Val here, you should be targeting Analyst, or experienced Analyst if a firm allows it. Associate is kind of a reach unless you have 5 years of we and are promoted to Manager. If I were you, I'd just work 1-2 more years then try to aim for LBS/MBA business schools">M7 -> Associate. I'd honestly rather be a Big 4 Senior than an IB Analyst...
