Boutique Mutual Fund

Can someone tell me about exit opportunities of a small mutual fund. 400millionish aum (5-20 people). They have some good publicity over the past couple of years. I got an offer as an associate but I really would rather work for a larger firm down the run. I'm not sure if I should take the offer or keep looking. I hope to go to top 15 b-school down the line and am studying for my cfa right now. Ultimately I would love to work for a hedge fund or PE. Obviously I probably can't get into a top 10 bschool from a random mutual fund but what path should i pursure to help exit opportunities for bschool.

i know i'm still young but I;m just curious.

also what are normal starting salaries as an associate at a finance firm? How about at boutique firms? (im in la)
