BREAKING: NY Orders City-wide Quarantine: Finance Implications

In light of the novel virus, SARS-Covid-2, otherwise known as Covid-19, NY Governor (within the past few minutes of this posting) has ordered that all Non-Essential workers must stay home. This will be enforced - given that NY State currently has 30% of all cases in the U.S., and NYC with 70% of that sample as of 3/20/2020 (note: NYC population >8 million). Wondering how this may impact summer analyst and incoming full-time roles at all levels, since they will neither be able to come into the city (if out of state) nor show up at offices. Thoughts?

That's just confirmed, problem with the US is that there's no testing kits available. Also larger problem at hand is the limited ICU beds available.

I feel like there’s no way this mandate will still be in place by July or August. So with that, I don’t think it’ll effect FT or SA

Not suggesting anyone gets their hopes up, but Governor Cuomo just mentioned that NYC will be administering some of the malaria drugs by mouth, to see if there is any effect on the coronavirus. I believe they will be starting this Tuesday.

Worth following to see what the result here will be, as this may offer a partial indication as to how matters will shape up.

Regarding a job for NYC /// I'm still trying to schedule that final round phone call with a partner who is in another city. Been waiting a week and a half. Hope they don't drop the ball as they said looking to hire within two weeks.
