Career help for grad student
Hey guys,
I’m basically graduating with a masters in finance by Fall 2021. I recently just accepted an offer at a top consumer goods/supply chain company as a graduate finance intern for this summer. Pending I do I good job, I’ll get a full time offer as a finance manager(a great job). At this very moment, my options seem quite limited. And although I’m quite excited to start this opportunity, the problem is I can’t help but think to myself that I’m doing myself an injustice to my career if I enter the corporate route, right after graduation. I’ve always wanted to work in supply chain and consumer goods but I wanted that status, after I worked in banking/consulting. My experience prior to grad school is in 2+ years in wealth management at a top bank, and a bachelors in economics. If I continue down this path with this company, will my chances of changing my career or entering the banking/PE industry slim? I would consider getting an MBA and restarting if so, but if not, I’d just like to know which career path would be most rewarding for myself. The end goal of course, is to become an executive a top company, regardless of whichever route I take. I’m just not sure if not having that extra experience will get me to that higher level.
Thank you.
