CHI is the best major city in the world

I know I'm stating the obvious here, but CHI is clearly the best major city in the world. It's basically in a league of its own compared with junior cities like NYC/LA...Does anyone have a problem with this bro? You know how cheap my rent is? My COL?

That's what I thought.

Correction, it's the best city 12 months out of the year...going to pretend I didn't even read what you wrote as it is completely inaccurate. The weather could be described as moderate at worst.

Would you rather live in NYC HAHA!

Then go to NYC then! More good weather, safety, job opps and nightlife for me.

You know what other cities have cheap rent and low COL (and should thus be included in the conversation for which is "clearly the best major city in the world")?

1. Buffalo, New York

2. Kansas City, Missouri

3. Dayton, Ohio

4. Omaha, Nebraska

5. Birmingham, Alabama

6. Louisville, Kentucky

7. Memphis, Tennessee

8. Greenville, South Carolina

9. Colorado Springs, Colorado

10. San Antonio Texas

and last but not least

11. Gary, Indiana

My most sincere apologies to the fine residents of Tallahassee, the undisputed "best major city in the world".

I feel bad for Gary. Relative of mine used to be pretty senior in the USS Gary Works (lot of my family has worked in steel over the generations) over there for a while before being shipped back to Pitt. He said it was really depressing, and having seen pictures, I can't blame him. Sad to see stuff like that. Not enough jobs at the the mill for everyone still there, and not really many other employers except for that shitty casino boat. Some of these smaller rust belt cities in the midwest and northeast ain't coming back.

Dayman?

I’m just glad someone who doesn’t live here knows that KC is in Missouri.

Can't even hear you over all of the money I'm saving living here vs NYC.

Chicago is 1/3 black, 1/3 latino, 1/3 white. It's super leftist. The mayor of the city (gay black woman) did nothing to stop people from looting and refused to get support from Trump when he offered to deploy national army. Out of few looters who were found, many were not prosecuted and were just left free by the main prosecutor who is a black woman who sympathizes with black criminals. I've never seen anybody openly admitting they support Trump or Republicans in public in Chicago. You may actually get shot if you wear a MAGA hat or something. So... I'm not sure what you're talking about.

I was one of the cornerstone Chicago supporters in the other thread, you must have me confused. Down to grab a few drinks later at Kumiko?

I would never live near there, I live near the loop.

Can't argue with that.... Chicago is pretty fucking awesome in this regard. In terms of bang out of your buck Chicago is probably #1 among all major cities in the world.

My prop trader buddy in Chicago pays the same rent as I do. I live in a 4 bedroom apartment bit distant from downtown. He lives in a studio at a luxury high-rise in the most expensive part of town.

I even checked Whole Foods prices and Chicago prices are only 60~80% of prices where I live.

Been quite a few shootings on Lake Shore this year

OP stfu, we don’t want NY or SF blowhards messing this up for us. Chicago sucks, it’s a terrible place, never come here guys.

But for real—Midwest nice is a thing, cheap COL, summers are great, winters suck, but that’s why during the summer the city operates differently/ people are more flexible with deadlines etc. Great public schools in the suburbs. Solid airport. Its a pretty dope location if you can swing it.
