Citi Treasury and Trade Solutions
Can anyone comment on what this group exactly does? Is it sales and trading or something completely different? Sorry for the noob question...

I can't answer the 'trade solutions' team, thats very vague.
I used to work in a corporate treasury department at a US bank. They manage the balance sheet risks of the firm, asset and liability mismatches etc. They issue debt to fund the bank, e.g. plain vanilla or commercial paper, and may also run programs of structured note issuance. They will manage the currency funding of the bank, ensuring the bank holds the correct mix of EUR, USD, GBP etc to cover the cash flows generated by doing business/the relevant regulations. A corporate treasury will also invest a liquidity portfolio, to prevent a Lehman Bros scenario. Aaand treasury also manage the capital position, i.e. equity, and the structure of legal entities that makes up a bank.

its not treasury. its not trading. its like cash/ liquidity management for company receivables/payments and also trade financing and services.
