Cornell MPS vs. Vanderbilt MSF

Got accepted to both and trying to figure out which one is the better path to land an IB job at BB/EB after the program. I know Vandy has a good placement rate, but think Cornell has more prestige?

Yes, I have a pretty strong network I think with people at most major banks. Also just did a spring internship at a regional boutique. I just got into IB last November, so I was too late for FT recruiting and now with Covid was not able to find a spot for after graduation. Do you think that either program will put me in a good spot for 2021 recruiting?

would prolly go with Vandy as well. it’s got a pretty strong track record and there’s a good amount of people placing into BB with one going to BAML and two going to UBS this year. and, these are all people with no ib experience before hand. I’ve also noticed a lot of kids going into vandy seem to have an ib gig lined up already

I think no one knows the real answer because most in this forum haven’t made such a decision. The trade off you are thinking is right and I would like to hear your final decision.

Yes, the MPS has mostly international students and not really a path to IB, but as you said it is Cornell. I already have a boutique internship on my resume, so my goal is EB/BB. I feel like Vandy is really only MM or boutique after the program.

With the Cornell network, I am hoping to get the chance for EB/BB. Compared to most other students in the program I am a citizen with previous experience.
