Corporate Finance (Financial Advisory?) focused Management Consulting roles
I'm about to graduate with a part-time MBA from a Top 3 school. My prior work experience includes 9 years as an engineer in a couple of different industries. During the course of my MBA, I switched careers to corporate finance and have been working as a Finance Manager for a Business Unit at a tech company for about 8 months now. I feel somewhat restricted in my current role and am looking for opportunities where I can do more strategic finance.
To that end I'm thinking of applying to Management Consulting roles that focus purely on corporate finance. Do such roles exist? If so, how different are they from a regular post-MBA consulting positions? What are some consulting firms with a good corporate finance consulting practice on the West Coast?
