Cover letter advise!
Hello Monkeys!
Can you guys give me some honest feedback? I'm tailing this to each job so it's pretty generic. Over all opinions would be very helpful!

I'm afraid you really need to tailor each cover letter to the bank. A template won't get you anywhere - if anything it'll do more harm than good.
Try mention these points for each application (in addition to the skills you've already outlined):
ABOUT THE FIRM
• Firm initiatives/awards that resonate with you?
• League table?
• Recent trade/investment/statement by CEO?
• Do I follow a stock that his firm manages?
• Have I had work experience here before?
ABOUT THE ROLE
• What opportunities does the scheme give you that you are looking forward to?
• What particular work excites you?
• What skills can you apply and develop?
I hope this helps, good luck.
Bro,
This is old. I got quite a bit of replies. As mentioned in major posts, generic isn't a big deal with CL's and they aren't really read.
I appreciate the ideas, but just bugs me a bit that what you said doesn't have much of a footing.
