Credit Suisse Chicago summer internship

How good is this for a summer? How difficult would it be to transfer to NY or LA? This is a bb but how many rungs down is it compared to GS or MS. Ideally, I would like to transfer within the bank after i summered there but i dont know how ethical/possible it would be.

thanks in advance

not GS/MS/ML, but still decent. It would be tough to move LA, but not NY, since there's more openings. Why don't you try working in NYC over the summer if that's your end goal. I don't think it has to do with ethics at all. You always look out in your best interests. don't worry about what others will think. If you go to a target school and recieve an offer, should be easy to leverage at another bank. Just look at threads on tihs forum for people making the switch.

Just a warning that if you summer at a BB regional (especially CS Chicago) you will be heavily pressured to stay. It relieves alot more stress to keep summers than to expend the resources to bring someone new for a class that small. They will probably not be too happy to see you go to another office, but it can definitely be done. I have a friend that made the transistion from GS Chicago to GS NYC, but he did not summer in GS Chi his junior year, he did it his soph...

CS LA will be hard because you have little to no contact with that office from Chicago. You will be dealing with GIS in NYC fairly often so that shouldn't be a problem to make a few friends.
