DE Shaw Rejection Email - Standard or Personal?

Applied to a DE Shaw position earlier this week. I have a very good resume (High GPA/Good School/Past BB IB and HF internship) but did not network at all here. I just applied hoping I'd be given an interview, but not expecting much.

This morning, I got an email that said "Thanks for your interest in the D. E. Shaw group. We've reviewed your application and were impressed by your qualifications. At the moment, we don't have a match for your particular skill set and our current needs, but we'll keep your resume on hand if the right position opens up at a later time."

While I expect this to be (and it probably is) an automated rejection email, I found it interesting that the strategic growth team was CC'ed on the email.

This is just their standard rejection, right?

Yes and no. It’s a standard rejection, but larger hedge funds will track candidates they view as generally favorable even if one particular opportunity doesn’t pan out. Take it as a compliment and move on.
