Career Resources
I'd assume the usual restructuring players like Lazard, Evercore, Millstein, etc.
Millstein is very well respected in that field.
Lazard & Blackstone restructuring, Houlihan. They should give you plenty of exposure to distressed & special situations
Adding to that list above, Rothschild, Houlihan, Guggenheim, Moelis, Grennhill, KPGM, E&Y, Alvarez, FTI, etc... There are lots of them.
Operational Rx =/= Transactional or Financial Rx
of course. I listed them because they also do financial rx advisory
Lazard, Blackstone and Houlihan Lokey are the frontrunners, with LAZ and and BX focusing on debtor side and HLHZ doing creditor side. Evercore used to be big on the debtor side as well, but have lost some steam recently. I think Greenhill's analysts do both M&A and restructuring, but I haven't heard of them actually doing anything. Miller Buckfire is a name that used to pop up a lot, but I don't know anything about them... I think they were bought by someone recently (Stifel?)
Yes, Miller Buckfire is now a Stifel company. They worked on the Detroit bankruptcy, but have definitely lost prestige in the last few years.
The only other ones I can think of that hasn't been listed yet by anyone are Centerview and Perella Weinberg Partners. They've both worked on some big Rx deals.
Yes, EFH is definitely not a big debtor..
does anyone know what JPM's restructuring team is like?
Moelis was 3rd globally inrestructurng last year & they're growing like crazy internationally
Yeah Moelis shows up to quite a bit of the deals in Europe as well
PJ Solomon
They do rx? I thought they were solely mm crg m&a.
