Do BBs in London usually pay a pro-rata bonus after leaving?

Fellow monkeys,

Asking for a friend in London:
Do BB banks in London usually pay out (Senior) Analysts a pro-rata bonus when they decided to leave early, i.e. during the year?

Obviously, if people switch banks (i.e. start working for a competitor) the story might be a little different ...

Thanks a lot in advance,
WW

Banks on December bonus cycles you usually get your bonus and leave in the spring/summer with no additional bonus.

Those on July/August pay cycles pay out the full bonus to the senior analysts who leave at the normal time (summer)

If you randomly leave early, you don't get anything prorated.

Sounds like a stretch for banks to pay pro-rata bonus man. I'd be very surprised considering no upside to them at all.
