Do you think I can break into a solid MM (top MSF, IB experience)
I'm currently a senior at a non-target decent private school. I have a 3.90~ GPA, one F500 corp fin internship, and currently am an analyst intern at an IB boutique (mostly doing M&A advisory and SPACs).
I was admitted and accepted my offer to go to a top US MSF program (MIT, Vandy), and am currently alongside my final semester and my internship sharpening my technicals, networking with alumni etc...
I've come a long way from a year ago in terms of my prospects, but do you think given my background I can get into a decent MM? Of course BB would be ideal, but I've adjusted my targets as to not focus my energy in the wrong direction.
It seems like many MSF's go for a boutique/MM the summer before their program and then lateral into a more established bank. I got lucky networking and managed to land this stint, which is nice.
Any steps that I should be taking to get ahead of the curve or things to avoid?
Thanks.
