Does anyone regret rejecting an offer at their home city (LCOL) for a more "prestigious" one in a Financial Centre?

Title says it all. Currently between two BB offers.

One is a mid-BB in my home city, where I already worked for some time, have my friends there and know that I want to live long-term (99.99% sure). Salary is absolutely amazing, especially for this city, which would put me close to financial independence if I pursued the role for a few years (especially if I would buy a property and start paying mortgage, instead of paying rent). This could allow me to do other jobs that I feel are interesting but would imply a significant pay-cut (e.g. work at a MM fund, CorpDev, startup CFO, etc.)

The other offer is a Tier I BB in a financial centre (LDN). I feel slightly more attracted by the position (coverage group of an industry that I like, higher dealflow, better brand), but probably would require a big adjustment from my side (in terms of hours, getting used to a new culture, etc.). Salary-wise, its not like I couldn't save decent money there, but it is a HCOL city. would have larger exit opps, but I know that ultimately I would like to go back home.

My question is: have you been in the same situation? Do some of you regret getting out of the comfort zone, looking back and see that you had the best option already at home? Or was the experience worth it, even if you ended up coming back?

Actually, I realized that one idea for me could be to pursue this opportunity and then rotate back home within the same bank, but then..why not start at home directly only because of a small difference in "prestige"? Obviously, a little bravery is required, but I'm not sure if working in IB is already grindy enough, and I have difficulties to see myself starting from scratch in a new city
