Don't say these at interview
I have been doing a lot of interviews lately; some interviewees are just clueless. In finance, don't say these; they make you sound like bad working-class people who don't have a clue what is going on in this world. Also these lines remind me of stupid girls who live for the weekend. As you can see, they are not suitable. They are not finance-material.
- You live only once. You have to do what you want to do.
- I want to change the world.
- I think people have to have power.
- I want to make a difference to other people's lives.
- I am very entrepreneurial.
Please don't. Don't write these in cover letter. Just say plainly why you want a job. Don't be melodramatic.
Also remember, if you have unusual background, you are likely to be rejected. For example, 2 undergraduate degrees. 2 Master's degrees. They make you an outlier and no one likes to take risks in the junior-level hiring.
Good luck.
