Duff & Phelps Valuation Analyst vs Middle Office @ BB

MO work consists of doing the books daily for the BB's PE/RE funds. I've heard/read the skills gained as a Valuation Analyst at D&P can be taken to IB (where I ultimately want to end up.)

So, which position gives me the best chance of making it to IB or a top 10 MBA, D&P or MO at BB?

Also, considering my background (3.6 non-target) if neither of those is an option, which would be the better career?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

2) Go with D&P. You will learn some great modeling skills and have transferable experience. I know 2 D&P guys who did their time and went buy side. And yes, I do know these people.

MIddle office isn't FO and it isn't going to prepare you for anything other then MO at another bank.
