Economic Consulting: Any firms more recommended than other in terms of work-life balance?
I am in the middle of the recruiting process for economic consulting firms and I was wondering if anyone on here could share their experiences and what the working hours were like for an incoming analyst. Particularly, I am interested in hearing about AG, Compass, and Brattle.
Is there a particular firm that's more known to be a "sweatshop" than the other? If you had to choose between the three, which would be best? I like the culture at AG so far but I don't know if that can be the differentiating factor among the three. I'm curious to know the hours worked for these three if anyone already had experience working for them...

50 hours per week on average. AG a league above the others mentioned (better hours, better pay).
WLB: AG > Brattle > Compass
Pay: Compass (if you do overtime) > AG = Brattle
Hours depend on practice and project but usually 45-60. You're not doing banking hours or anything so choose the company you like talking to the most.
Can you add any color on Cornerstone or Bates White? How do they stack up?
Cornerstone is consistently heavy on hours but it has the best pay out of all of these unless you do significant overtime at Compass
Bates White does a lot of antitrust which has long hours but are very good at it. Pay a bit lower but definitely worth a look if you like DC.
