Engineer PhD to Quant GS question
is the "quant" who goes from engineering-PhD -> GS quant, different than a quantitative analyst "quant"?
I've seen many pure engineering PhDs in electrical-engineering or computer-engineering (with no finance experience) from top schools (MIT etc) joining GS with a "quant" title.
Within IB circles, is there role more prestigious/reputable than a typical associate or MBA?
Do they have a better, worse, or same chance as an post-MBA "associate" as making MD or partner at GS?
