Entrepreneurship to Venture capital

Hi,

Quick background on my experiences:

  • Went to a target and did a finance degree

  • Did a couple of internships in IBD

  • Graduated and opened a independent school

  • That school is now growing and doing well ... still fairly early in

I really enjoy finance and deal-making rather than the operational side of things my current role requires of me. I wouldn't look to sell my business and instead find a means to stand-aside and find a replacement. I've always enjoyed finance and would love to transition back in. Venture capital seems like something possible given I opened and run a business. What are my potential prospects of making this happen? I'm still sub-30 and an MBA could be an option but I would rather not. Private equity seems more enjoyable but I can't see how that transition would work - not much in terms of interchangeable skills?
