Just land a corporate finance job with a "fashion" company if you are into that scene. Plenty of retail teams out there in M&A, if thats what you mean?
I was interning in the NY office of an American BB but got transferred to the London office for 2 weeks to work with guys in the Retail group covering all those luxury brands.

Not for jobs - just out of curiosity. Came across the LVMH + Hermès takeover bid.
I hear ya. Not that I know of. Just read up on the situation, sounds like it is going to get interesting.
Most of the big fashion houses (Prada, Ferragamo, Burberry etc) are usually just covered by the BB consumer/retail teams.
I think a couple boutiques worked on this (dream) deal: http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2011/11/08/ppr-acquires-italian-suit-maker-brioni/ but I don't they they "specialize" in high fashion M&A

Sweet guys, thanks!
Will be keeping an eye on this deal. Looks really interesting. Shame for Hermès if LVMH succeeds.
Fashion Capital rocks
Is that about it?
Anybody heard about Swiss Fiduciary Capital. They claim to focus on European Luxury sector and offer M&A services. Let me know!
Anyone else have any recommendations for NY-based firms?
Thanks.
