Finding time for the little things?
How do you find find time to take care of everyday tasks? For example: paying bills, servicing your car, cleaning the house, etc
Due to long hours and mental energy constraints, I find that I forget to take care of menial, everyday tasks. For instance, my auto insurance billed me incorrectly but I keep pushing off calling them because other stuff comes up. Short of hiring a personal assistant, how do you deal with stuff like this?
Interested in hearing responses to this.
For me, I just aim to minimise the amount of menial stuff I need to do. Paying bills and stuff can conceivably be done in downtime but I haven't done that.
Re: cleaning the house - if you live with roommates, might be a good idea to get a regular cleaner to come by every week or two - will be pretty cheap if you're splitting the cost and will save a lot of time.
I just fucking do it? Did you really just ask how to remember to pay bills? Christ
For those bills, I agree with the above... For cleaning, get a cleaning lady.
outlook calendar reminders. then just do it.
if you're one to just dismiss alerts, create outlook tasks, that way they don't go away until they're completed.
mint.com also has emails that they will send to you to let you know to pay a bill.
