First Year Analyst - 2 Weeks PTO? How/if to use them?

Hello! Reaching out to see if any members have some insight on the unwritten rules of first-year analysts using their vacation days. I am going to MM IB (RBC, BMO, Stifel, etc) next year (not NYC Chicago or SF) and was given the cliche 2 weeks PTO accrued monthly. If/When I use my vacation days how should I go about it? Is it an unwritten rule that no vacation days should be used year 1? (Note; I would prefer to use them sparingly like take a Friday off to visit a friend in a different city, see a sporting event etc. and am not really planning on taking week-long trips anywhere) Anything helps!
