Former Hedge Fund manager enters the 2020 election

Today it has been announced https://www.cnbc.com/2019/07/09/tom-steyer-billio… that Tom Steyer, a former hedge fund manager is entering the 2020 election race. A few main ideas make up his platform

  1. Reducing "corporate influence" on politics
  2. Addressing Climate change

Steyer is also a prominent leader in the organizations Need to Impeach and NextGen America. Looking at their platform https://nextgenamerica.org/act/ they seem to support illegal immigration, climate change, "equality", and "healthcare for all".

Steyer also has pledged to put up at least $100 million for a change.

So what impact do you think this guy will have on the 2020 Democratic Primary and the overall election? Do you think he is more centrist or too far left like most of the candidates the Dems have put out this year? Can he win?

Why is he not running for the Democratic party, since he's basically from the same echo chamber and undistiguishable from others?

Never discuss with idiots, first they drag you at their level, then they beat you with experience.

I expect neink to be uninformed but cmon man...

Billionaire Tom Steyer officially entered the presidential race on Tuesday, saying he would seek the Democratic nomination for president despite having previously ruled out a run in January.

Right. Personal provocations aside, it basically changes nothing in the primaries.

as much of an insufferable twat he's been with his "need to impeach" nonsense, I think we can all agree on the following positions he has: equal treatment for sexual preference, reduce crony capitalism, do something about the environment, and have sensible immigration policies.

now, the question is: what are his actual policy proposals? because the above is all talk. I'll wait to see what he actually proposes before I judge him one way or the other. refreshing to see his entire platform is not "impeach"
