Freshman Investment Banking Internship

So I’m currently a first semester freshman at a strong semi target and looking for any experience this summer. If I can get a GPA of 3.6+ whilst being active in clubs such as investment clubs and economic orientation societies, would a no name firm be willing to take me? I know 99% of any cold emails I send will be ignored or denied but I just want to be in a place where I can learn from someone/people who have experience to propel me forward in the career I want. Also I know some people say “you’re too far ahead, enjoy your summer” well I think getting a leg up will allow me to enjoy the rest of my life. Also last summer I scrubbed toilets so this is a huge upgrade lol. Thanks for reading, any help, critiques, or roasts are appreciated. Cheers

I’m also a freshman but I’m at a nontarget. Hopefully, I’m going to intern (unpaid) at a no-name shop this spring and then go back to a commercial bank I interned at this summer. I would say if you can get an IB gig do it, but I think anything finance related will do.

Someone's in for a nasty surprise.

Lol I know about the lifestyle but I don't think I want to get into investment banking after college only because I value my free time and my family a lot so the hours just wouldn't work for me.... not to say that pay isn't good enough but I just need to be able to see the people I love. But I want to do some internships just to have some knowledge and experience within the field that could help me in other career paths like asset management, PE, or trading.

It's very hard to get an internship in high finance as a freshman. I go to a nontarget and when I was a freshman I networked to try and get a boutique IB or LMM PE summer internship. Ended up going through 2 processes and lost out to juniors both times. That being said, I doubled my efforts for my sophomore summer and I ended up with something. I now have a BB IB summer internship this coming summer. My point is, freshman summer is when you can do whatever and it won't really matter. I ended up with nothing and it didn't have any negative impact. If I could go back, I would do a summer study abroad because since then i haven't had an opportunity to study abroad and wish I could have been able to at some point in college.
