George Washington University compared to UVA? (seeking advice, again)

Back again with the semi-target questions.

What do you guys know about BB recruiting at GWU? I am currently set on UVA and will be transferring as a 2nd year this fall, but a friend of mine is trying to convince me that GWU is up to par.. even better than UVA when it comes to landing internships. This sounds like nonsense to me.. I've never heard of gwu in the same discussion as investment banking. Is any of that true? If so, I would be more inclined to transfer to GWU over UVA. I live in northern Virginia and live 30 min away from GW, what do you guys think? Are any of you aware of the chances of going into IB from GWU? How's the recruiting scene and would I be favored coming from GW? What does the street think of GW? I'm talking BB/EB/Top of MM.

I am aware that many UVA alum are on the street and that being a public ivy it is a great school and an obvious choice, I just want to know if GWU is really up to par with UVA as my friend whom goes there claims.

+SB to all whom have a say of course

This is a very noob question but MBB consulting straight out of undergrad??!I As Finance majors? That's very interesting as I thought you need to at least get some ib/general work xp before you go into consulting; I was asking as GWU is my safety if UVA doesn't work out

My (former) EB gets a fair amount of analysts from UVA. Not sure if the university has similar performance with other NYC banks or if it is some oddity with our firm due to strong alumni relationships with the school. In my experience in meeting analysts from other large banks, I can't recall any that graduated from GWU. That being said, if we're deciding on investment banking internship placements, I would easily place UVA above GWU.

Definitely can get into MM/Boutique investment banks. They have the best intern placement in the usa so definitely want to utilize the career centers. Also; make sure she joins as many EC's and Clubs as she can that show interest in finance, have her study the WSO guide to investment banking. Lastly; investing in the financial modeling course on WSO will give her a great advantage over other students when she's submitting her CV; she can put that as a skill/accomplishment. GWU is a prestigious name but isn't particularly a target school for BB's; as you can see above they do commonly recruit GWU grads. PM me for more info!
