Goldman Sachs Info Session Rejection
So Goldman Sachs held an "invitation only" on campus information session and they rejected me (or said that they didn't have room for all interested people, basically a rejection). Of course I will reassess and try to improve my resume, but with deadlines for the bb banks right around the corner, this has me very worried.
Should I take this to mean that I won't be a competitive candidate for front office BB positions this summer? I can't imagine them rejecting someone from an information session and then inviting them to interview.
Thanks for any advice.
have you tried operations at GS? if they don't like you for info session i assure you there's no hope.
What are your stats?
did the info session requested a resume?
Yes, just a resume.
You are not good enough for Goldman.
Deal with it.
While the above posters didn't have to be douche bags about it... the fact that your resume didn't get you through a screening to get you into an information session is not a good sign. You need to network with firms to get an interview. It seems like your resume alone is not enough. Sorry.
So basically, it is fair to assume that I was weeded out on the basis of GPA and/or insufficient experience, correct?
Goldman interviews lots of people; look elsewhere now rather than later. basically there's no hope.
I think it is nothing related to GPA since I got the invitation but I didn't show my gpa on resume. Probably it is because of insufficient experience.
As already said, look elsewhere. Maybe you're not good enough, but also keep in mind that they're stupidly picky. Go somewhere else, work your ass off and prove them wrong, that they should have hired you instead of that mediocre MD's son
